Wage Day Advances – A Solution To Cashflow Problems

Posted: 08 Jul 2011 05:35 AM PDT

January is generally a time when people find it difficult to make ends meet. The celebrations of the festive period often leave bank balances in bad shape, credit card balances scarily high, and plenty of vying demands on whatever spare funds you have. It’s not surprising then that for many of us, our January finances are an unsolvable problem, and towards the end of the month money just dries up.

If you’re lucky, your overdraft may be able to come to the rescue, letting you put off sorting out some of your expenses until your finances settle down again in springtime. Or, you might well have some headroom on your credit card that you can use to cover essential costs, although getting out cash on creditt card accounts is notoriously costly.

What can you do if none of these two options are available?

The answer is, for many, to take out a wage advance loan. While these kinds of loans are far from inexpensive, they can be arranged quickly and are available to virtually anyone who has a regular wage and an appropriate bank account, with credit history not normally being a barrier. Pay day loans are usually for a small amount, a few hundred or so, and are taken out over a time period of weeks rather than months. A set charge of around 15-20% of the amount you borrow is charged, which you pay when you pay back the borrowing when you get your next wage.

Most fast cash loans also have the option of being renewed or prolonged, so that you can hold over paying off the loan for a further month, although at the cost of a fresh set of fees. While this is useful for some, it is also risky: it can be all to easy to get stuck into a cycle of debt which is a problematic drain on even the most sound of budgets. The price is also important, as wage day advances are very high-priced in comparison to virtually all other varieties of finance.

Even so, if you find yourself in difficulty come month end and can’t make ends meet, then a pay day loan could be a rapid and easy solution – just make certain you realise and can cope with the perils involved.

Is it illegal for my short term disability insurance company at work to not let me Cancel in AZ?

I work at big company, and they normally only let you change your insurance elections once a year, but I thought it was required that they let you cancel insurance at anytime? Assuming you don't sign some sort of contact saying otherwise.

Does anyone have any info on this?
