Bc student loans are a form of financial aid granted to British Columbia residents for postsecondary education. How does getting insurance while being pregnant work?

My husband and I want to start trying to have a baby but he just started a new job and the insurance doesn’t kick in until 90 days. We put in all the paperwork to HR but aren’t sure if in Dec when it kicks in they can jack up the premiums because I might be pregnant already or how that works. I heard that some insurances will take a referral letter from a previous insurance company, how does that work? Anyone else in this situation? What options have you found that are affordable? We are in Utah btw.
